craving for apple!

apple = mac
Open your ordinary picture in mac, then it will become beautiful!! That’s what I felt when I tried my friend’s imac. iMac come with cpu built in its high quality apple lcd. Well, the OS is good with its eye candy effects, but the screen is the one that really love. Then my friend told me that apple cinema display is even better then imac’s screen. Wow.. it makes me wonder how will my photos will look in cinema display..

For now I use Samsung Syncmaster 931c which is not bad at all. Below are the comparison spec between the Sweet Cinema Display and 931c.

Syncmaster 931c

Samsung

Screen Size 19″
Display colors 16.7 million
Resolution 1280 x 1024
Brightness 250 cd/?
Contrast Ratio 700:1 (DC 2000:1)
Response time 2ms (GTG)
Viewing Angle (Horizontal/Vertical) 160º/160º

Apple 20″ Cinema Display

apple cinema display

Display colors (maximum) 16.7 million
Viewing angle (typical) 178° horizontal; 178° vertical
Brightness (typical) 300 cd/m2
Contrast ratio (typical) 700:1
Response time (typical) 14 ms
Pixel pitch 0.258 mm 0.250 mm
Screen treatment Antiglare hardcoat

From the specs, there are not many differences between those two LCD screen.. but as you can see, cinema display is work of art. The design is really good, and somehow the picture quality is also amazing. Unfortunately the price tag can be 2 or 3x Samsung 931c.

WTA Tour – Nusa Dua, Bali

WTA Tour has been a yearly agenda in Bali. Before, the main sponsor was Wismilak, but now It’s Commonwealth bank. I don’t play tennis, and I don’t really into it.. but watching professional tennis players live infront of you should be interesting and today is my first time watching it.

There were 2 matches. First is doubles between
HSHIEH, Su-Wei (TPE) + PENG, Shuai (CHN)
vs
DOMACHOWSKA, Marta (POL) + PETROVA, Nadia (RUS)

then, singles between
SCHNYDER, Patty (SUI) vs PASZEK, Tamira (AUT)

well the doubles was an intense match compared the single. Hshieh and Peng won the double, as for the single was won by Schnyder.

I took some pictures in both matches.. and all i can say is Canon EOS 5D isn’t build for sport photography :( It’s only 3fps (frame per second) and full frame. You’ll need the cropping factor unless you own 300mm++ tele lens. Here I only use Canon 70-200mm f/2.8

Bali Beach Golf Course

If you’re new in golf and live in Bali, this course might be the first golf course u play. It’s only 9 holes course, therefore it’s a great course to play before or after work. We can start early from 6-6:30am and finish by 8:30am, or later in the afternoon which the latest we can start from 4:30pm. We don’t really need to spend the whole day at the golf course.

Bali Beach Golf Course

Before the course was run by government, and they were having problems to maintain course. Since 2005, it’s transferred to private company, and now the clubhouse is totally revamped with great facilities such as lockers, equipment rentals, proshop, and a great restaurant (Sector Bar and Restaurant) with great foods. Moreover, the fairway and green is well maintained. While this is the closest golf course in town.. it’s filled with local business people and expatriates who live nearby.

The course is oldest golf course in Bali thus filled with lush, mature trees and a challenge for accuracy. If u don’t have the whole day to play golf, or just need a casual play before or after work, Bali Beach Golf Course is a must to visit.

Photo Spot – Kintamani

kintamani shipwreck

Today I went to Kintamani. It’s a village on the eastern part of Bali, famous for its pure breed kintamani dog, and also one of favourite spot for photography. With Batur Mountain, lake and villages, it’s a great place for landscape and human interest photography. Personally, I don’t really into human interest photography and in this trip I didn’t find anything interesting except the beautiful landscape :)

To capture the sunrise in Kintamani, we need to leave Denpasar by 4AM. I know its too early, but you don’t want to miss the beautiful sunrise in there. It’s a must scene to shoot, but don’t forget to bring jacket or sweater along.. it’s quite cold.. especially in the morning.

fisherman

The bad thing about Kintamani is.. they need to clean up the lake for (*)#$ sake.. it’s so dirty with plastic junks. Well the shipwrecks are great objects to shoot.. but in the other hand, I alo need to clean up the photo area abit and also in photoshop to get a decent shot.

KeyPoints:
Things to bring:
Camera, wide lens, tele lens, sturdy tripod, gradual filter, trigger cable, and jacket for sure.
Type of Photography: Landscape, waterscape, human interest

ps: Thanks to BP.net crews for letting me join their hunting trip, and happy shooting with your future Grad ND filters :)
