Linline Production which based in Malaysia, brought this annual fiesta for the 2nd time to Sector Bar n Restaurant… and i was lucky that i manage to get spot on the front row. I don’t dance, but when I saw all the pros move their body.. i was really enjoying the show.
Sunny day in Madrid!! finally the first fine day during the whole trip.. It took another 5 hours by bus to get to Madrid.. from Valencia. We had lunch in restaurant full of meat hanging which looks like its interior decoration
then.. the appetizer is a plate with different kind of processed meat such as errr all i know is salami. There were so many of them and I have no idea what the name and it surely didn’t suit my taste. Luckily the main course was sea food platter. No more meat for me!
Next, we went to Royal Palace. It’s quiet interesting things to see that huge palace and seeing all the interior of it. Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to take pictures inside.. -_-”
For group picture we stopped by the stadium used for matador, Plaza de Toros. Too bad we went there on a wrong month. Winter just came in.. and basically there were nothing special happening in Spain.. except the MotoGP
Arrived at Barcelona 9:30am, it was cold windy and raining. Since we won’t be able to check in to the hotel till afternoon, the tour guide bring us around town.. starting from Spanish Village which filled with different Spanish architecture. I was disappointed since the weather is so gloomy that day. After Spanish village, the next stop was Estadi Stadium where they held the opening and closing of 1992 Olympic which by the time we visited was and empty stadium and nothing to see. Monjuich Hill was the next stop.. where we can view the whole city..
Then the main spot was Sagrada Familia.. a very big church designed by famous Spanish architect.. Antoni Gaudi. They have been building this church 1882, and it’s not even finished by now and yet Gaudi himself has passed away. Now the project is continued by other architect.
Last stop was… shopping time!! We were dropped in La Rambla St. and since I don’t really like to shop, i just walk around the city while others already scrambling to buy souvenirs or those LV or Gucci.
Bali proud to host the first Asian Beach Games. 45 countries were expected to participate on the game, but only 42 confirmed. Now with more then 5000 atheletes and officials, it become the biggest event that Bali ever have. There are 17 sport disciplines ranging from a well known sport such as surfing, beach volleyball and wind surfing.. to a new sport to me which named Kabadi (and what i’ve known, Indonesia’s Kabadi team has just formed few months before the game started).
For me, it’s a life time experience to watch a world class event held in Bali. Too bad i’m going overseas in two days, but I won’t waste these couple days since I’ve already got passes to the all venues. I hope I’ll get FOP (Field of Play) card so I can have better access and which also means better photo.
As for today, it was very hot.. and I’ve already got sunburnt.. I manage to shoot beach volleball and the last game of sepak takraw. Below are the ballet that they do in volleyball
edited 20/10/08: It’s confirmed I won’t get the FOP pass.. it’s abit hassle since there isn’t any FOP pass for the whole sports..
I don’t remember which tourist spot start it first.. but now Sanur, Nusa Dua, and Kuta have their own fiesta or so called festival. It’s held once a year and i think the main purpose is to promote their own area for tourism industries.
Among all those events, Nusa Dua festival doesn’t really interest me. It’s far
(i’m a lazy driver + it takes about 40+ minutes to get there).. and somehow the rundown of the event all filled with “hotel day.” I’m not sure what is it about, but maybe since it’s sponsored by hotels, they provide special slot on the event for all the hotels participate in it to do promotions.
Well I went there actually just to see the fiesta parade which held on the first day hoping to get stock photo just for my collection.
I was browsing the magazine stand looking for the latest edition of Golf Digest when I glanced to see familiar magazine with heading which said “Digital Camera Magazine.” Wow! I never knew that this UK magazine had been published in Indonesia. It has the same glossy cover and images as the UK’s edition, but apparently thinner.. which mean less articles.
As I remember I was going to subscribe for this magazine, and have it sent to Bali. Unfortunately, they don’t receive order from Indonesia. I guess Indonesian reputation for online shopping already ruin with all the cardings.
Anyway, finally this magazine is published in Indonesia. Let’s just hope that the translation will be easy to understand since most international magazine which have been translated to Indonesian tend to be confusing.
I’ll buy the next edition since I’ve read the UK’s edition thanks to Pak Gustra (IB Putra Adnyana).
Canon EOS 5D MKII will possibly change the path of my career as well as the photography industry to some degree
Vincent Laforet, a New York based commercial and editorial photographer has produced a video, shot using the Canon EOS 5D Mk II. It was taken using the prototype 5D mk II, which he got for only 72 hours before he had to sent it back. You can watch it here
